not getting better

Among the files I lost were all of my knitting files. Patterns, worksheets, photos, ideas, in every format. Some were patterns I purchased and downloaded and never printed. Oh, my aching head.

Ok, I don't mean to be weird, but I was reading the comments on Rachael (yarnagogo)'s blog, and saw your comment that you are from Chicago and moved to Tucson 3 years ago. As a fellow Chicagoian who moved to Tucson 1 year ago (after a slight 4 year detour to Austin), I thought it was my midwestern duty to say "hi!"

Ah, Julie, a perfect opportunity to practice equanimity. And a royal PITA, besides! For 20 years I've been preaching "backup - backup - backup" but I still feel for you. However, just because the hard drive doesn't work on your machine doesn't mean it doesn't work at all. I'd suggest taking it to a shop where they can extract the readable data, or better yet, copy it all onto another hard drive.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Sad news about your hard drive. Reminds me to pull out that zip drive I bought for back up and DO IT.

Howdy - almost neighbor.

I am a spinner that learned to knit in self defense - the yarn around here was overtaking everything. I am getting ready to start my first lace shawl with laceweight handspun. I haven't picked out the perfect pattern yet, but I am looking.
